Signal has been very very slow, on and off and could not use line today 2 meters from the router 'network unstable'. Phoned them up and after the usual list of turn everything off and on which ive already done a few times the last few days they ask me to check the speed. Tried a couple of days ago and the 10 mbps service was about a quarter of one mb. As soon as i test it after they asked it jumps to 32 - see no problem. I assume they must boost the signal as I have never seen it more than 7 mbps. Anyway the bloke is coming round in a couple of days, I expect it will be the same, he will leave then next week it will be back to crawl speed.

If it goes backwards yes your in Thailand if it was opposite man you'd need a map cos your lost.

I hope you understand that 'WiFi' is an option of the Router or a WiFi Access Point (if WiFi is provided by a second box).

If your wired Internet connection is problematic, then it's the wired Internet connection that's problematic, not the WiFi.

Your ISP might help you when you report a WiFi connectivity issue, but it's not really a part of their provided service.

Many of the ISP issued consumer residential routers they include with the service will have issues because they are cheap. (Referring to both the ISP and the Router).

Testing your Internet connection should preferably be done using an Ethernet cable connected directly to the router and your PC.

If it turns out your actual Internet connection (aDSL, Cable DOCSIS, Fiber Optic, 3G/4G/LTE) is fine, but your Router's WiFi signal coverage is a problem then you might think about purchasing a separate WiFi Access Point (preferably one with actual antennas) and connecting it to the LAN port of your existing Router.

yes network unstable is the wifi signal, not the internet providers connection speed
