Coffe Corner in Prachon Chai - gone downhill

Featured Replies

Today I visited the Coffee Corner in Prachonchai and was most dissappointed with the food.

The good thing the place is clean and set out nicely and is a favourite for local Farangs to hang out especially when the Thai wife/girlfriend wants to walk around the nearby market.

However being on the main road it is very noisy if you sit outside but if one does not smoke you can sit inside.

The service is generally good.

The menue itself is well laid out and there is a good choice for both the Farang and the Thai ladies.

This has changed hands a few times, and now is, according to an ex-owner I called, owned by a Mexican/American guy.

Unfortunately he seems not to have cooks or staff who understand how to cook, not just Western food but Thai food too.

But first of all I asked for a cup of coffee, When it came the cup was only half full, if that, and so strong that I could almost stand a spoon in it.

No wonder it came with a glass of cold water. That is similar to how Cypriot people like their coffee, but not many other European Falangs.

Next I ordered the Gammon, french fries and two eggs,

The Gammon was well overcooked, dry and very tough.

The whites of the eggs were very runny which is exacltly the same as when I ate there some months ago and pointed it out to the waitress.

The french fries though were ok.

My wife ordered Thai food, not sure what is is called, but again there was a problem, far too salty that she could not eat it. She did however say the white rice was good.

I have tried unsuccessfully to find an email address for the Coffee Corner to pass on my comments.

I am a firm believer that unless one is informed of bad practises then nothing can be put right and therefore profits etc will fall and the business will fail.

As someone who ran their own business for 24 years I know how important feedback is.

I am hoping that the owner or a close friend of his will read this and so can take some action to restore the quality of food to as it was before.

Gutted to hear that.

I don't think the current owner is a member on here but I may be able to bring your comments to his attention. Some discretion required as I am the original owner.

I can say that there are a few issues at the moment that may be impacting on your experience - hopefully these can be resolved and any disruption to quality may only be temporary.

The owner has recently added a variety of Mexican food to his menu. Personally I don't like Mexican but have had feedback (pun intended) from those that do saying that it pretty good. Agree about the noisy location.

Thanks for that. it would be good if you can bring my comments to the owners attention.

Though being a previous owner I appreciate it will not be easy.

I have, since my original post, been given an email address and have sent an email with my comments

hopefully they will act on them and understand that feedback is helpful and I am trying to be constructive.

It has to my knowledge, even though I do not eat there lot, in the past always had a good reputation.

It would be a shame for it to go dowhill further as there are not that many farang hangouts in the area.
