Thai Airways and One-Two-Go fly between Suvarnabhumi and Khon Kaen

Thai Air

One-Two-Go

I normally use THAI but they are the most expensive for domestic flights. One-Two-Go I believe is much cheaper being they're a low cost airline, but I've never used them, only heard a couple of reports on them which were kinda negative.

I know that you asked about airline service, but there is also a bus that is scheduled to leave directly from the transportation center to Khonkaen.

According to the schedule I have, the Khonkaen bus is 311 baht and the ride is 6.7 hours.

I've used long distance busses in Thailand, usually part way through the trip the bus will stop for a (small) free meal, sometimes you get free snacks and water on the bus. Compared to Europe and the U.S. even without any food or snacks, these bus rides are a good deal.
