Thailand as home, roaming the world tax free - the pipe dream
"Capital gains and investment income earned by a resident from sources outside Thailand are not taxable unless remitted to Thailand in the year of receipt." I thought this may have been out of date but its dated 16 October 2024 and mentions Paw 162 & 163. -

O. Henry: The Gift of the Magi. The saddest Christmas story of all time?
It is each to their own. In 2011 my wife and I were down in Pattaya for Christmas Eve, about 7am on Christmas morning she got a call that her father had collapsed and been taken to hospital. By the time we got back to Chonburi he had been pronounced brain dead. The interment was on New Year's Day. -

Car Crash on Expressway Leaves Driver Dead as Car Collides with Six-Wheel Truck
Picture from responders. A collision on Bangkok’s Mahanakorn Expressway resulted in the death of a car driver after a car crashed into the rear of a six-wheel truck parked for road repairs. The impact caused the car to overturn, trapping and killing the driver at the scene. The crash occurred near the Lumphini toll gate, opposite the Tobacco Authority of Thailand in Klong Toey district. Police Lieutenant Chaiyapat Tubchom, from Expressway Traffic Control Division 1, along with rescue teams from the Port Authority Foundation and the Poh Teck Tung Foundation, responded to the scene. The site was located in the leftmost lane of the expressway, just before the Rama IV exit ramp. A white Honda Brio Amaze, bearing license plate from Nakhon Ratchasima, was found having rolled over, with its engine ripped out and debris scattered across the road. The roof of the car was severely damaged, leaving the vehicle in an unrecognizable state. Emergency responders discovered the lifeless body of the driver, a male estimated to be between 30 and 40 years old, trapped inside the wreckage. Lacking identification documents, the body was extracted using hydraulic cutting tools and sent to the Police General Hospital’s forensic unit for identification and further investigation. The six-wheel truck involved, a red Hino crane truck with license plate from Bangkok, belongs to the Expressway Authority of Thailand. It was parked in the far-right lane with warning lights and cones in place while conducting streetlight repairs. The rear of the truck showed significant damage, with the car’s engine lodged beneath its undercarriage. Preliminary inquiries revealed that the car was traveling at high speed when it collided with the truck, despite safety measures in place, causing the fatal overturn. Lieutenant Chaiyapat stated that the incident is under investigation, with CCTV footage from the area being reviewed to determine the circumstances of the crash. Authorities are also tracing the car’s registration to identify the deceased driver. -- 2024-12-25 -

You came to this conclusion after talking to ONE person? Pretty weak sample size for a survey. -

Woman Dies After Being Set on Fire in New York Subway
Oh please ! (this was all avoidable) The accused offender was previously deported in 2018 ... should never have been allowed to re-enter, don't they have treatment in his country? The correct number of women set on fire on the subway is zero. Actions have consequences, he's a murderer. -
