Private buses from Khon Khaen / Roi Et -> BKK

Featured Replies

I will be flying to Roi Et today but wanting to just take a bus back to Bangkok tomorrow. I checked Nakhonchai but the latest bust they have doing that route is at noon, and that's too early. I'm not 100% sure when I'll be leaving, but I figure it'll be around 4 PM at the earliest.

Is there another private bus company that does this route? Or am I stuck with the regular buses? Is it better to get a bus from Roi Et to BKK or should I head over to KK and catch one from there?

Roi-et - Bangkok:

1. Sahaphan Tour - VIP (non-stop) buses at 8:30 and 9:10 a.m. frequent non-stop buses in the evening, every 40 min. or so, beginning at about 7:30 p.m and ending at about 11:30 p.m. A couple of additional departures during the day, which have a meal stop in Khorat. Buses run full most of the time. Book a few days in advance if you have a deadline to get to Bangkok.

2. Nakhonchai Air. - a new service which just got underway at New Year's. Two morning departures at almost exactly the same time as Sahaphan's. Two evening departures within the four hour period I gave you for Sahaphan above.

Both depart from the baw-khaw-saw (Public bus station) in western Roi-et just west of Tesco -Lotus on the same side of the street. Sahaphan also has a station of their own, about 3 blocks from the baw-khaw-saw. (Why, I have no idea). Their departures leave the baw-khaw-saw about 10 min. before the scheduled time, in order that they can leave their own terminal at the appointed hour.

Running time to Morchit, Bangkok is about 7 hrs.

A small error in my post above: The bus station is just east of Tesco Lotus and Nevada Multiplex.

So why aren't you flying back as well. Air Asia have a flight at about 8pm for only 760 baht total and Nok Air have one at 2pm for about 900 all in.
