Hi all.

I'm heading down to Bangkok for the annual bike show this weekend and hopefully will get some good deals on new stuff. One of the things I want is a new jacket. Despite the weather here in Chiang Mai this week, I am looking for an armored textile jacket something like the Taichi Air Mesh or Crew Mesh or the Revit Air Wave. Not necessarily any of those specific jackets, just something well built, light, and with good protection.

Any suggestions appreciated, especially from someone that has actually owned one of them.

Thanks

I'm really happy with my rev'it jacket .. The airwave looks a bit dated these days, so I got the Airforce .. Which has a nice mesh on the arms, body and back.

Its quite light in comparison to other jackets I have owned.

The only regret is, I bought the white mesh with black cordura and it was white when I bought it for about a day.

I bought 2x revit waterproof jacket and trousers at the same time, everything seems really well made and will buy more in the future.

Thanks for the information recom.

I was looking at the black one and the one with the green arm accents so thanks for the info on the white mesh. Maybe black is a better option. The old on I have is black and it hasn't been a problem.

I second Re'vit. I have the GT-R AIR and I am very happy with it.

It's not the lightest air jacket but I find it a very good mix between mesh light yet strong. I came off my bike doing 50-60kph and it performed great.

I have friends with Dianese and A-Star mesh jackets and the(my model) Rev'it feels better quality.

Definitely performance tested. I'll give that model a look as well.

+1 for Rev-it. I bought mine in Panda and was just as pleased with the (quilted) inner jacket too. A great bonus on the scooter during the cooler months.

Which one did you get with an inner jacket? None of the ones I've looked at have mentioned having one.

I forgot to mention that one of the good things about this jacket is the collar. I didn't like the strap that buttons across the collar on all the other mesh jackets here. Thailand is hot and that strap was uncomfortable on my neck, but if you leave it unbuttoned it flaps around in the wind at speed. (Very annoying)

The GT-R AIR has the strap lower down off the collar so it wasn't an issue. Of course if you really prefer some of the other mesh jackets any decent seamstress can cut it off or modify it.

Ihave a tour master mesh jacket nice and light as well as preformance, came off the PCX doing about 50k, hit one of the ruts in the highway by Uthai Thani. It did tear a 1in hole in the shoulder where I hit, sore shoulder but nothing broken. I did get abrasions on elbows but there is stilla lot of heat generated as you slide but would have been much worse without it.

Very sorry, I don't know it's name. All black with reflective strips across back & front. Got it at Panda about 2 years ago. Would definitely buy another.

I have a Revit airwave jacket for sale if anyone's interested. Its an XL and is too big for me, hence its hardly been worn and is in great condition. PM me if anyone's interested.

I'm in Pattaya and will sell it for 2000THB or swap it for a size L.
