Turkey's Erdogan threatens 'consequences' for Moscow, saying Russian jet violated its airspace

ANKARA: -- The Turkish government said on Saturday that a Russian fighter jet had violated its airspace on Friday. Moscow denied the accusation.

Turkey’s President Recep Tayyip Erdogan described the incident as a Russian attempt to “escalate” the crisis in the region.

“If Russia continues to violate Turkey’s sovereignty they will bear the consequences. Such irresponsible behaviour will not contribute to improving relations between NATO and Russia or peace in the region. On the contrary, it will do harm,” Erdogan said.

Russian Defence Ministry spokesman, Major-General Igor Konashenkov denied that any Russian plane had entered Turkish airspace, and called the allegation “pure propaganda.”

Tensions between Ankara and Moscow have been high since Turkey shot down a Russian warplane in November, which it said had violated its airspace. Russia insisted the jet was over Syrian territory when it was hit, had never entered Turkish airspace and did not receive any warnings.

Maybe the two countries should get their GPS rechecked Than their would be no argument when Both countries can see the Marks on the screen and show Screenshots ! thumbsup.gif

it's high time to meet in person

...and to kick Erdogan and his Turkey out of NATO.

Do you think that Turkey has the gonads to shoot down any Russian fighter ? The consequences will be in " strong worded complaint."

Nato military headquarters and the Pentagon confirm it....

NATO confirms Russian jet violated Turkish airspace

A Russian jet has violated Turkish airspace, Ankara and NATO said Saturday, adding to recent strains in the traditionally friendly relationship between the two countries.

NATO Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg criticized the latest incident. Turkey is a member of the military alliance.

"A Russian combat aircraft violated Turkish airspace yesterday, despite repeated warnings by the Turkish authorities," Stoltenberg said in a statement, calling on Russia to "act responsibly" and fully respect NATO airspace.

I see Putin has taken to wearing iron undershorts cause he's back at the same stuff again with his rattletrap fighter jets at the Turkey border.

Turkey is a Nato member country since the 1950s back when Vlad the Putin was a bouncing little Russian Soviet boy in his iron diapers sucking milk on a goat's teat.

Stalin was in charge then.

Meet the new boss, same as the old boss.

yeah, he seems to have balls, man!

Turkey, stop talking.

We all know that you've been buying oil from ISIS. We all know that you've been exploiting your geographic position to get benefits from US/Europe and the other Middle East countries. You stand up in front of Europe and call yourself a secular non-Muslim state, but you are also a nation heavily involved in nationalism and religion.

You buy oil (surely, on the cheap) from ISIS, and you also get benefits from being in NATO. Turkey, how much oil did you buy from Iraq during the time of the UN sanctions ? Yes Turkey, it's your good luck that you are between Europe and the Middle East. Europe has got this belief that it is being threatened by the Middle East, and you Turkey, you have exploited Europe's fear.

Yes they have and will do < they Know NATO is backing them , Most of the International community is trying to run Russia into the ground,

Who said Russia doesn't have turkeys laugh.png

This bulk bird blunders from Putin's beloved Soviet Russia in the 1970s.

So anyway....

Putin walked into Erdogan's club. gigglem.gif

And now he's trying to walk into it another time. blink.png

Every country in that region is buying oil from IS. For many different reasons, but they are. Including Syria. Tough times there right now.

If you go back to the beginning of this, you'll find the spark that caused this fire was Syria killing innocent protesters. Like they've done in the past. Further worsening the situation was China and Russia refusing to stop shipments of weapons to Syria. Too many weapons coming in from too many countries:

Nato is U.S biased.

I take any report by them with a grain of salt as they are just a mouth piece for the U.S.

Because the Russians are all a bunch of truthful, up front guys with everybody else's interests at heart, right?

Biased? Probably. Just like every organization like this.

Mouth piece for the US? No.

To determine the national identity of a warplane (flying combat missions with its transponder turned off) requires the establishment of visual contact from another aircraft, Konashenkov stressed, adding that no visual contact with the Su-34 had been reported. Neither Russia’s air defense systems in Syria, nor Syria’s airspace controlling radar stations, had recorded any violations of the air border between Syria and Turkey, Konashenkov emphasized.

Remove Erdogan and Turkey from NATO and we will see how brave this piece of s..t is
