tomaway Posted February 10, 2016 Posted February 10, 2016 HI all, With my (Thai) fiancee we are looking for a place to organise our Thai wedding ceremony. Using internet is just a nightmare as it is only showing high end hotels or wedding companies... We would like it to be in the southern part of the Island and able to welcome 30 guest. We are not looking for anything fancy, but something more genuine like a wooden house. If anybody had already been invited or organised this kind of events, it would nice to have suggestion. Cheers, Tom
fiddlehead Posted February 10, 2016 Posted February 10, 2016 Friendship beach (Rawai) has weddings as do some of the other smaller resorts (ask for Charlie) Kan Eang 2 has had them also. (restaurant in Chalong near the water) Where do you like to eat? Hangout?
tomaway Posted February 10, 2016 Author Posted February 10, 2016 Hi Fiddlehead, In fact we are already having the diner organised in Kan Eang 2. They also have facilities for the Thai ceremony in the morning but we would like to do it in another place. Their offer is really good but I just don't don't want our guest to come 2 times in the same place on the same day. I will have a look at Frienship resort but I doubt they will be interested by a ceremony in the morning.... Cheers
fiddlehead Posted February 10, 2016 Posted February 10, 2016 Maybe O2 beach club? That's a nice place, with pool and can be rented all or part of it I believe.
2fishin2 Posted February 10, 2016 Posted February 10, 2016 Ever thought about an island beach wedding on a small one close to Rawai?? Friends wife has a business doing just that. PM me if you want details. Dont know if she is available but she could hook you up somehow Im sure. Cheers
tomaway Posted February 11, 2016 Author Posted February 11, 2016 It seems we know the same places Fiddlehead... We will slide from restaurant to O2 Beach club to party a bit more. 2fishin2: that would have been a good idea but we already book in Kan Eang 2 I keep looking for a wooden house but not easy to find...
CharlieH Posted February 11, 2016 Posted February 11, 2016 If you dont have anything positive to contribute, please move on. There is certainly no need for insult or ridicule. Thank you.
stuandjulie Posted February 13, 2016 Posted February 13, 2016 Not wishing to rain on a happy day in any way but aren't beach weddings still not allowed under our new leadership ?
stevenl Posted February 13, 2016 Posted February 13, 2016 Not wishing to rain on a happy day in any way but aren't beach weddings still not allowed under our new leadership ? They are allowed again, a few months ago this was changed.
NYGuy816 Posted February 18, 2016 Posted February 18, 2016 My colleague had a small beach wedding. It's still allowed. Best to find a small resort, even if they don't offer any beach weddings online, and ask if they could accommodate you. I'm sure they won't say no.
gd65 Posted February 19, 2016 Posted February 19, 2016 We had our small thai wedding and reception at Sukko spa resort. They have a beautiful wedding ceremony area. They really looked after us. Worth checking out.

If it is not too much to ask, could you PM me what kind of price they asked you, just to have an idea. Cheers, Tom
