Your local test centre will do it all for you , you just go back a couple of days later and collect the new tax certificate ,insurance for the year which is sold by the test centres.

My friend did it all by himself and got everything in 45 minutes, no waiting for certificates or going back... but totally understand

some want to avoid the hassle.. but it was pretty easy, i did it myself the other day, took me 40 minutes

Its not a point of not wanting to do it myself ,i have to pass the test centre , why would i want to travel into the city to Nong hoi when it all can be done at the test centre ,in a lot less time than it would take me to travel to the centre at nong Hoi and back plus the time to complete it at the test centre .

Their are enough test centres availabe to not have to travel into the city to do this.

If you feel that I was attacking you I was not. I was not stating that you did not want to do it yourself. The drive to the office is easy to some including myself, took me 5 minutes to get there from where I live. You also stated that you have to go back a couple of days later to collect the new tax certificate, something I personally did not have to do.. you do it all in 30 to 45 minutes and that is it no return to the place in two days.

Like I said the post was an option if you wanted to do it directly at the office yourself. I have no issues if anyone wants to go about other means in obtaining it.. I just hope people do it either way..

No I did not think that or take it as a personal attack. I have done it both ways and I find that renewing at the test centre is the best way for me.

You can call in whenever you are passing to collect your green book the new tax certificate and your new insurance certificate. it is not going out of my way as I have to pass the testing station every day. Also if you renew in plenty of time it is easy to call back in at your leisure. Which is a lot more convenient for me than going to the centre at Nong Hoi. The total cost last year was 505 Baht so the cost is not excessive either. Like you say whichever way is ok.

That's good info. Last time they sent me to the Holiday Inn. If Hang Dong can do it as for the car, certainly.
