Recently had someone bring me high grade manuka honey from Canada. However, I am not keen on paying $300 for 2000ml again.

I was reading some research papers that claims longan honey is pretty good and also honey from coffee pollen.

As with manuka there seems to be a lot of fakes around. Can someone suggest some trusted brands that I can buy here?

Manuka honey from Canada?. They can't grow the plant that produces it there.... even in balmy Victoria, BC .... it does not do well.... I did research in to that years ago...... it's grown and imported from an area of New Zealand ... do a Google search!

As for Thai Honey, I find the one available at Makro (maybe Tesco too?) It's not bad, it's in a tub with a yellow lid.... it just says Thai Honey on the label!

Check out beesunlimited.com. They are in Siam Riep. They seem to know quite a lot about honey and fraud. Im waiting for a friend to come visit me and were taking two months to travel around and honey, from bee's I guess I have to add, is one thing I want to check out......I found out that finding pure honey can be real difficult in just about any country. Unless you buy from an honest beekeeper who lets you visit his operation.

Hi, I have Manuka honey from NZ. It is called Natural Solutions Manuka Honey. We import it directly, it is from the East Coast of NZ, north of Gisborne. The manuka honey from that region has the highest Triketone content, which is the anti bacterial content.

To make sure Manuka Honey is real it should come from a member of the UMF organisation in NZ, www.umf.org.nz This is the officially sanctioned Manuka Honey organisation, you can see on the site the list of producers that are verified, each has their own registration number.

You can buy ours in Supermarkets in Central malls, Paragon, Emporium EM or you can buy online from us on Lazada or direct from us.

Prices are expensive, it is in huge demand world wide and there is limited supply, it only flowers in December, if it is wet or rainy and the bees cannot fly as last December was then the bees cannot fly.

Photos are of the honey, and Te Araroa, this is where the honey comes from

Depends on what you want the honey for. Most people eating it for daily health will eat UMF 10 or !5. If you have a specific illness eg sore throat, wound or infection, stomach infection then UMF 15 and 20.

UMF 20 is what is used in hospitals, on things like post operation wounds to stop infections and scarring. But it is the rarest of Manuka Honey, only a small amount tests as UMF 20.

If you are eating it, then eat before you have a meal, so that it is not diluted by other food.

Ummm buddy.... I said someone brought it for me from Canada. Of course I know that manuka is a New Zealand honey.

That Thai honey won't do it for me. Looking specifically for honey with high anti bacterial properties.

Living in Phuket I often see farmers carrying around pails of local honey with the honeycomb in the there too. They come in to bars and restaurants selling wild honey. They will fill a Sangsom bottle as you watch using a strainer and a funnel. 250 baht a bottle, it's the best honey I've ever tasted. All kinds of different flavors. I have to think this is some of the best honey in the world.

When we see someone selling honey like this we'll call friends and ask them if they need some. We usually end up buying half a dozen bottles.

We will taste the honey (always incredible) but now I also check the water content. It definitely loses flavor as it ages but it's still the best.

I buy honey in TOPS Silom which is opposite Holiday Inn Hotel in Bangkok. They have good variety of honeys there and I think they sell real stuff. Definitely not the 7-11 stuff packed in a tube which is plain sugar syrup.
