Featured Replies

I live in Thailand
With Retired visa

Close to 10 years

I bought a Toyota car for cash in LOEI
I got paperwork neatly in my name.

After about a month the company announced that there is a problem getting a license plate in my name.

The Department of Transportation wants special permission from IMMIGRATION
but They refuse

What to do?

I'm trying to do for me Yellow House book
I'm not sure that it will be enough for the Department of Transportation
Maybe register the vehicle in the name of my partner?

But I want to make a contract with her .that the vehicle belongs to me.

Looking English-speaking lawyer in LOEI

Well I registered my new car at the Land Transport yesterday. Passport and copy, Yellow Book and copy was all I needed in addition to car paperwotk.

Yes you need proof of address. If Immigration won't supply will LTO accept letter from your Embassy

Get the docs from the company, then get the required proof of address from your embassy, and get it done yourself.

Or get a residency certificate from you local Immigration office, some charge, some are free, but all are accepted by the Land Transport Office to register a car in your name

Much cheaper than the Embassy option
