Hi group, I am planning to leave the UK in the next two months, to go and live and work in Thailand. I am British, 39 years old and will be applying for my non immigrant visa catergory B, I have a letter from the Thai company sponsoring my application, this letter does not show my intended salary, will this be a problem? Also will I need a letter from my previous UK employer stating my previous position with them to be submitted with the application? And is proof of my qualifictions to be submitted with the application? Sorry if you have answered these questions many times but I would like my application form to sail through the process without delays (cant afford the taxes here in the UK any longer :o ).

Also could you please advice if once I have my non immigrant visa (multi entry) and I apply for my work permit will I still have to leave Thailand every 90 days?

Or are they issued for a year on a yearly renewable basis!

I will be working in Pattaya and any advice on how to obtain my work permit in this area would be greatly appreciated, or will the application have to go through BKK if so again any pointers would be appreciated to help my application?

Thanks

i don't know what the embassy in the uk will want but i think a genuine letter from the thai co should do it.

work permits in pattaya are issued from chon buri, i don,t know whether you will have problems getting one or not it depends what job description or position you will have.

if its a legit thai co then surely they will take care of the permit. if they are not supplying you with one i'd look into it as maybe you won't be able to get one.

with a non imm b visa you will probably get 3 months at a time but you won't have to leave thailand (if you have a work permit), i have a 1 year non imm b visa, on the permit i'm down as managing director, with musicians for example they would never give one year straight. otherwise as with the 90 day thing you only need to go to immagration and sign yor name and inform them of your address.

Yes. You need contract begin and end dates as well as salary.

For the visa, not sure now, but you will need them for your work permit. Make copies.

I don't know what your position will be, but be prepared to do so.

Apply for the non-immigrant B visa at the Royal Thai Consulate at Hull. Use the mails. Very fast service and I am sure that your letter will suffice. Your employer has to help your work permit application. Once you have a work permit, you can extend your visa, and not have to run out every three months.
