When my passport is renewed at the Australian Embassy in Bangkok can I collect it?

Because on the form which I completed it stated that it would be mailed to my address.

I went to Aussie Embassy to renew my passport last week.

They give you the option of collecting it yourself when it is ready.....I was quoted 14 days.....or you can have them forward it to your nominated address once they receive it from Australia.

If you choose to have it delivered, they cut the lower portion off the title page rendering your current passport invalid. They also state that if they mail it to you and it becomes lost.....it is not their responsibility.

I chose to go back and pick up the new passport myself.
