Belgian man, 80, dies of heart attack at Patong Hospital

Darawan Naknakhon

PHUKET: Doctors at Patong Hospital were unable to revive an elderly Belgian national who was said to suffer a heart attack yesterday evening at a Karon Hotel.

The victim, identified as Mr Norbert Alfons de Wilde of Belgium, had reportedly been out to eat at a restaurant in Karon with a Thai companion, named as Ms Somporn Imprasong.
Ms Somporn told officers that at around 6.30pm, Mr Norbert complained of chest pains and excused himself from dinner to return, by himself, to his room at the Baan Karon Hotel so that he could take medication for a heart condition.

yes but don't you just miss the famous line - police have found no evidence of foul play and have ruled the death as suicide....

Hey no one reported my grandmothers heart attach in 2005. Whats going on here

80, and he died in Patong so I am guessing he had a good run, at least the last part.

RIP Belgian dude. sad.png

80 year old dies of heart attack. Sad, but hardly newsworthy.

Old man dies of natural causes. You might not think interesting, but in Thailand since it was a foreigner who died it is. Every foreigner who dies will become the news headline for a day. Even you. When you die we will all be reading about it and the circumstances of your death. So make it a good one!
