I suggest you ask at the desk whether they have a "guest joiner" fee when checking in.

When you book the hotel book for 2 persons. When you check in tell them that your partner will be joining you later.

Perhaps you meant a temple which happens to be white. I can’t imagine anyone walking to The White Temple or Wat Rong Khun from central Chiang Rai.
