Khao San Road Feels Pinch as European Tourists Hold Off on Bookings - video
IMO that is BS. The Thais have destroyed the very thing that made K Road a destination of choice for bagpackers. It used to be a cheap and cheerful place for the bagpackers to hang out in a bar, watch a VDO of Apocalypse Now, and brag about all the places they got drunk in, buy Made in China fake Thai souvenirs, wear stupid elephant pants and generally pretend to be seasoned world travellers before travelling 3rd class train to get to the Full Moon Party on a bus without a bonnet where they would get drugged up and fall off their rented m'bikes, or end up paying a large bribe to the cops for buying illegal drugs. The Thais tarted the place up, made it expensive, added trendy nightclubs and generally made it a place any self respecting young western tourist would avoid like the plague. The Thais are the world hub of destroying the reasons tourists used to like about Thailand. They managed to destroy every decent easily reached beach in the entire country, as I can personally attest to. -

President Kamala Harris
If they do they are retarded.. She would lose to any decent GOP candidate by a large margin. I suspect their candidate will come from someone not associated with the fringe of the party. Keep in mind they want to win and they have to convince the money people they can win. -

Crash Kills Mother and Two Children in Chumphon; Driver Flees
A car crash on the evening of November 27, claimed the lives of a mother and her two children after their motorcycle was struck by a speeding car. The driver of the car reportedly fled the scene while clutching a cat, leaving rescuers to fight in vain to save the victims. The collision occurred on a railway overpass in Ban Nong Mook, Tak Daet Subdistrict, Mueang Chumphon District. Rescuers from the Chumphon Rescue Foundation arrived to find three severely injured individuals scattered across the scene. The victims were identified as 16-year-old Kritmeth Rattanapha, a high school student, his 14-year-old sister, also a student, and their 52-year-old mother, Yenjit Rattanapha. Despite desperate CPR efforts by rescuers, all three were pronounced dead at the scene. Authorities found the victims’ motorcycle, a Honda Wave 110, heavily damaged, with debris scattered around the area. Around 100 metres away, they discovered a black BMW car with severe damage to the front and rear. Witnesses reported seeing the driver, described as a woman in her late 30s to early 40s, frantically searching for her missing cat before fleeing the scene with the animal. A local resident recounted hearing the crash: “I heard the screech of brakes and a loud bang. When I came out, the BMW driver was shouting for help to find her cat. Once she found it, she picked it up and disappeared into the night.” The victims’ grieving father, Prakrit Rattanapha, shared that his wife had gone to pick up their children after school. She had sent him a photo earlier that evening, showing her waiting for the children, and reassured him she was driving carefully. Police are investigating the incident and have gathered evidence from the scene. They are working to locate and apprehend the BMW driver to face legal action. Picture from responders. -- 2024-11-28 -

Electric Vehicles in Thailand
I got plenty of headroom in our MG ZS, although the seat is all the way back, so leg room might not be enough for you. I sit fairly straight up, especially compared to the wife's seating position. I'm 177 cm, and leg room is just enough for me. Don't know about sporty though, but definitely fun. I wouldn't drive the ICE version like I drive the BEV version, as a bit top heavy. The battery really makes it more stable when playing. BEVs are hard to topple over because of the low, heavy, center of gravity. Definitely fun, but still only 8+ secs to 100 kph. I usually only drive in 'ECO' mode, 'normal' and especially 'Sport' mode is definitely noticeably faster. Really to fast for around town, and I really don't need to get to highway speed that fast anyway. Without trying, I notice I pull away from everyone at traffic lights, though since I do the speed limit on highways, they eventually pass me Roomy for a family, even though a small SUV. No kid now, but we take the whole house with us when O&A 🙄
