Windows 7 start-up problems

Featured Replies

I don’t seem to be able to find the answer to this elsewhere, so can anybody help on here?

When I start my computer in the morning the network adapter fails to start. It shows up in device manager with a yellow exclamation mark symbol.

If I restart the machine everything works okay.

Initially I thought this was a driver problem so I reinstalled drivers from the Intel website but it made no difference.

The other symptom is that if I put the computer into sleep mode, it tries to wake up but fails and then goes into a complete restart.

Anybody got any ideas?

"Try restoring to a time when it worked"

That was my first idea last week but unfortunately all my system restore points had been deleted.

If you cant fix it you can try the following

When things get messy I do this first follow step by step as it repairs your install http://www.tweaking.com/content/page/windows_repair_all_in_one.html

And then if that doesn't work I do this but you need your original win 7 disc

If I were in your situation, I would first check if my drivers (especially my network adapter drivers) are up to date (and update at least my network adapter drivers if it's not the case), for instance with this free utility: https://www.slimwareutilities.com/slimdrivers.php

Another free software might be useful (if you still encounter this problem after updating and rebooting your computer): http://www.iobit.com/en/advancedsystemcarefree.php

It allows you to check and repair numerous problems, and comes along with a free version of Driver Booster, which also might help with drivers issues.

I had a similar problem and took my computer to Nick at Pro corner and he resolved all issues under 2 hours. As I recall his bill was a little under 1000 THB. It took me many years to find this Talent. His cell phone is 0866089922. His shop is close to the MRT. As I recall two stations N. from Asoke, Sukumvit.

If you have been in sleep or hibernate mode it is likely that your router/ modem has dropped your allocated dhcp etc.if you right click the connection and run troubleshooter that will usually work. If not Google the flush DNS / refresh DNS instructions and that will do much the same. Be weary of fixme software often vontains malware.Cheers

You could peek and see if it is turned on .... go to Network Sharing Center...Change Adapter Settings. Might be disabled?

If not..then must be the driver. Just download or use a backup driver for your internal device.

ehhhh... ..win # 8 or # 10 , put win 7 to sleep .

Uninstall the driver and make sure you delete it completely.

Then shutdown and restart.

Windows will attempt to reinstall the driver from the original drivers directory.

What is the network adapter?

And what is the Computer (model number)? Or is it a generic build.

I had similar problems when I was using Windows 7 AFTER an automatic network adapter driver update that took place at the same time as a Windows 7 update.

3 crashes ensued. A tech resurrected the computer following the first two. Following the third crash I waved a white flag, got a new computer with Windows 10.

Can't say that the updates caused the problem, but they seemed to be suspiciously coincident.
