The Audio store on the mezzanine level of Times Sq. in Bangkok is closed and windows papered over. I always used to walk slowly past, admiring the decorator style, high end audio gear on display but I never saw a customer inside. I always wondered if the glitzy styled speakers and futuristic components sounded as good as they looked.

They open and close rapidly in this country. The money invested then lost must be incredible. Several brand name shops in Gaysorn (B&W) and Paragon (Mark Levinson plus others) must be losing money big time. A few are long-timers like Image Audio and Elpa Shaw in Amarin. At one time not long ago there was an influx of new shops, now it's back down to the hardcore 3 or 4 in there.

Another of the long-timers are KS Sons (Indian owned) and Piyanas. Both have several stores.
