Yngwie J Malmsteen Live In Bangkok

Featured Replies

Yeah I went cuz I enjoy live music.

The guy is fast, no doubt, but outside of the classical pieces -- and he does a nice job of transposing Paganini violin concertos to Stratocaster -- it all kind of sounded the same. I wouldn't doubt if every song was in the same key (that would explain a lot of his speed). They certainly were all the same tempo.

But perhaps I'm too old too enjoy the subtleties of Heavy Metal. :o

Nice rig though. Besides the white Strat -- which the singer said was a 1964 model, which if true you'd think the Yng Meister would be a bit more careful with it rather than tossing it around like a ragdoll -- there was the wall of no less than 14 (!)

Marshall amps. Don't think they were all on at the same time but still it looked impressive.

Oh and it was LOUD!

Anybody else go?

I didn't go but I am glad to hear you say that it was LOUD. I went to The Eagles there (a bit different I know), but it was much too quiet. You could hear the Thais talking, attempting to sing and have a chat on their mobiles. Of course, maybe they turned the volume down because Toxin was there!
