Honda CBR250R ABS - Seat Shaving.

Featured Replies

Anyone tried shaving a bit off the CBR to get a little bit more "Foot on the ground" ? Looking at the bike there does not seem to be much more to take off.

The side panels seem more intrusive than the seat. I am only after about an inch or so, just to get a bit flatter feet at a stop. I was looking at the rubbers that support the base of the seat but removing these seems only to cause the seat to bottom on the tank at the front, no real reduction. What about cutting a bit off the sides of the actual seat base? I really don't want to get into lowering the suspension as the bike is nicely balanced as it is and lowering links scare the hell out of me especially on the roads around here, I need as much ground clearance as possible. ( When I bought the bike the previous owner had dropped the front forks by almost 1 inch - raised them in the yoke and the bike handled horribly, now that they are reset the handling is great but i am a bit "Inseam Challenged")

Any suggestions?

Thanks.

One can buy a suspension lowering kit. I had the same idea and if you get on the net you will see it is a very simple set-up and easy to self do.

From memory it lowers about 75 mm... I sold the bike before I could find where to buy...
