Yeah but the goal was scabby otherwise they would have got a draw.

Fair point Chicog. I watched the game with my 3rd son who is an Arsenal fan, and we both felt South America could do very well in Brazil.wink.png

Muchas gracias for that prediction Nostradamus (and son).

And the Chelsea thread remains as quiet as a library.

No doubt there will be a bit of knee jerking later, or tomorrow Thai time.

Strange game that. Spurs set out to dominate possession and,in the first half,we couldn't get a foothold. As they showed at Arsenal earlier in the season, they bossed the midfield and were a yard quicker to the ball. It was a good job that we have a mean, well drilled and solid defence. Was the introduction of Oscar the catalyst for our better second half performance? He was an improvement on Lampard's contribution in the first half but I would have plumped for Willian to come on at that stage, as Oscar has been walking lately. We certainly came out with renewed vigour but had a large slice of luck with the first goal. I thought the second goal was a penalty but didn't warrant the sending off of Kaboul. From then on,Spurs threw in the towel and it became a turkey shoot for our strike force.

Now,here's a ground breaking imponderable which our so called football television judges have been mulling over, overseen by John Dykes who clucks around like a mother hen over her brood. "Well Curb's (or And' or any other non entity that sits there),Chelsea are nine points clear but City have three games in hand. Would you rather have the points in the bag or the games coming up ?" What sort of question is that? It's like saying, would you rather have a million pound now or wait a couple of weeks where you could have the same money but may lose the lot.

You're obviously don't concur,Les. Anyway, chuckle away to your hearts content.

Well Sherwood doesn't sound very optimistic for next week's derby. Personally I'm just worried that Dawson won't be fit and they might put someone good in there.

Analysis, paralysis.

Torres injures himself in the warm up, Mourhino tells Eto'o it's his destiny to score, Eto'o scores and does the oldman routine at the corner flag.

Premier League wouldn't be the same without Arsenal either. Unique.

Good win v Everton in the cup.

Frankly I'm bored with Manchester United.

The only pleasure I get watching them is to see how our loyal servant and gifted footballer Mr Juan Mata plays.

Game needs characters.

Well done Samuel.

And by the way, all this torture about a team in decline!

Fact is David Moyes is uninspirational.

But don't ever tell a united fan.........

RVP ain't happy because he's been somewhere.

Ba got 2 goals last weekend, although quite fortuitous.........maybe he should start tomorrow?

As rubbish as Torres can be in the epl, he does seem to. have a bit of extra fire in Europe, so, save him for Gala?

One swallow doesn't make a summer, mate. Although he scored two,Ba seemed to take an eternity to put them away while the Spurs defence looked on admiringly. He probably gleaned a bit of confidence from the brace but I wouldn't start him just yet. Is Torres fit now? The two Villa centre backs are a bit statuesque so I would play someone who's going to pull them about. I've been advocating Schurrle in the striker's role but Mourinho won't chance that and,I think, will plump for Eto'o up front.

Oh Well..Such is life. Too much pissing about around the edges in the first -half and not enough cutting edge.....Oscar has gone right off the boil and is hardly the player he was before christmas. Back to the drawing board then.

Good for you not blaming the referee for your player and your manager's poor discipline.

I'm sure Mourinho won't be able to bite his lip in front of the journos like he just has in front of the cameras.

I like Mourinho as a manager and a character, but that was just totally unprofessional of him last night. These overpaid hot-head managers need to wise up - a certain amount of theatricals is good for the game but it;s getting a bit OTT.

Has some sympathy with Willan - not a dirty player. Ramires on the other hand - another bull in a china shop.

Benteke Delph and Agbong - v impressive last night. Most teams would have struggled

Ah, I'm bright and bushy tailed this morning ! A Chelsea loss always invigorates me, and a Mourinho meltdown adds luster to my sense of schadenfreude.clap2.gif

More of a sense of the horse race now that we were all expecting. The last furlong ought to bring lots of snorting.

Disappointing result, but it has been coming. We haven't been playing well for a while now and luck has been on our side. Not yesterday though.

We are still to tippy tappy for my liking. Without looking for the stats, I would guess Chelsea have attempted more passes in the oppositions box than any other team. Just smash it!

No doubt there will be more twists in this tale of the epl, but Chelsea really need to up their game against the so called weaker sides.

<deleted> has happened to Oscar?? I can't remember the last time he did something special............anyway onwards and upwards, let's hammer the gunners next week after we dispense with Gala.

I'd guess City would be of an equal amount. It's frustrating when they try to walk it in the net all the time..

Yeah, I miss the days when we had a younger Lampard that would come running in and whack the ball.

In agreement. Shoot, shoot, shoot ! Look at the number of goals from deflections every week. Blast away !

I'd take a can a corn mishit looper like Everton's winner anytime.
