The question about whether the TB test for the UK settlement visa application has to be current at point of entry to the UK - after reading some threads which seemed very inconclusive, what is the definitive answer to the question : Does the TB test result have to be less than 6 months old at the date of application only, or does it have to still be within the 6 months from the test, when the successful applicant gets to London or other UK airport ? Here's a thread that showed the disagreement over this -

Updated facts on this needed.

Paragraph A39 of the immigration rules is still the same. The TB test certificate must be valid at the time of application :

  1. A39. Any person making an application for entry clearance to come to the UK for more than six months or as a fiancé(e) or proposed civil partner applying for leave to enter under Section EC-P:Entry clearance as a partner under Appendix FM, having been present in a country listed in Appendix T for more than six months immediately prior to their application, must present, at the time of application, a valid medical certificate issued by a medical practitioner approved by the Secretary of State for these purposes, as listed on the Gov.uk website, confirming that they have undergone screening for active pulmonary tuberculosis and that this tuberculosis is not present in the applicant.

Thanks Tony M - i was aware of that, but what was in my paranoid mind was the possibility that it wasn't an Either/Or requirement, but a Both, ie, that the TB test must be valid at both the time of application AND at entry to the UK, though i realise that would put unfair pressure on the applicants to get the whole shooting-match done within 6 months of the TB test. I am hoping it is only at the time of application, as we are going for it this year, when processing times for 100% of settlement applications in BKK are being decided within 30 days !

At the moment, they are being done in one week

I did this last year and confirm that it is the validity at the date of application which is relevant. No questions were asked at entry to the UK about TB.
