farang1979 Posted May 22, 2016 Posted May 22, 2016 I'm flying BA to London from Bangkok and wanted to know, if anyone has done this route, if they have WiFi on this route?
smokie36 Posted May 22, 2016 Posted May 22, 2016 Definitely not a chance. How do you know? I suggest you check out the British Airways Executive Club on Flyertalk....there was a long thread on this there not so long ago.

Bantex Posted May 22, 2016 Posted May 22, 2016 I fly this route regularly. They still instruct passengers to make sure all electronic equipment is switched to airplane mode before use as devices which transmit and receive during the flight are not allowed.

Seems like they're lagging behind. I usually use Emirates which has WiFi available while you're in the sky.
Bantex Posted May 22, 2016 Posted May 22, 2016 Emirates are probably using more modern aircraft. It would cost an airline money to update the older fleet.

British Airways are upgrading their fleet though. They'll all have WiFi soon enough, check the news. Otherwise people will fly Emirates as it's the same price. Just wanted to know if any aircraft already had it. By the way as you're a regular BA flyer, what's the flight experience like with them?
Bantex Posted May 22, 2016 Posted May 22, 2016 The aircraft on this route are Boeing 777. I've never flown on Emirates so I can't compare the two but I think they are better the Thai Airways or Eva Air on the same direct route. I've never had any problems with BA. Staff are good. I prefer the direct flights as I catch a BA connection in London and the flight times suit me perfectly. Also my next two flights are free with their frequent flyer programme.
maxtwo Posted May 22, 2016 Posted May 22, 2016 I fly BA or KLM would not touch Emirates ever again. And close call but I think KLM wins.No wi fi on either.

I agree KLM are good but I use BA as I have a BA connection in London (both directions) and both flights use the same terminal in Heathrow with luggage straight through. A lot less hassle for me.
elliss Posted May 22, 2016 Posted May 22, 2016 BA , equals , bloody awful . The best value for money airline , with wifi is ? give us a Q .
Lannig Posted May 22, 2016 Posted May 22, 2016 What's wrong with Emirates? I'm a fairly happy frequent customer on BKK-CDG route. Although... the wifi is... well, it's there, you can connect to it but almost all the time it's hardly usable, even for simple browsing.
