German MP suffers ‘cake attack’ over refugee stance



BERLIN: -- A German MP was hit in the face with a chocolate cake on Saturday, apparently in protest at her stance on refugees.

Sahra Wagenknecht was targeted at a congress of her far-left Die Linke Party in the city of Magdeburg.

She was sitting in the front row during the opening speech when a young man stopped in front of her and threw the chocolate cream cake in her face, before shouting what sounded like slogans. A self-styled ‘anti-fascist’ group said it was behind the attack.

Wagenknecht has said that Germany should put a limit on the number of refugees it takes in – a position not supported by others in her party.

She is the second German politician to be attacked with a dessert this year over her position on asylum-seekers. Beatrix von Storch of the anti-immigrant Alternative for Germany party suffered a similar fate last month.

Yes. Yes they do. Like a circle their behavior is invariably fascist. But make no mistake, the means today are left, it's outcomes are entirely the same as if a despot singularly seized control. Hitler is a perfect example, and there are many, many others.

I very much doubt it, the Baltic states suffered a lot more under the fascists than ever they did under Stalin. Hitler's political 'National Socialist Party ... were anti-capitalist, displayed extreme racism, antisemitism beyond the extreme of extremes,etc. The Nazi's attempted to redefine socialism but it was still socialism --- and I believe that is on the LEFT side of politics...

Really so here we have someone who was a left winger but apparently one of his first actions on seizing power was to round up all those on the left, the communists, the socialists, democrats, trade unionist and march them into the concentration camps these all being what I believe is called the LEFT side of politics.. While at the same time allowing the German capitalists, industrialists (Those are what I believe are what is known as the RIGHT side of politics.) to stay free and prosper under his left wing regime.

Then this left winger for some reason attacks the only other left wing regime around,the USSR while hoping to forge alliances with the very capitalists who had imposed the Versailles treaty on Germany. In fact any cursory reading of Mein Kampf would reveal that Hitler had two obsessions, Jews and Lebensraum which meant a march east and the destruction of the Union of Soviet Socialist Republics who the last I looked were on the LEFT side of politics..

Then just to prove his left wing credentials he forges and alliance with the Fascist dictator Mussolini. and the right wing military clique in Japan.

Now if you want to identify further examples of extreme racism and antisemitism I don't think you would need to look as far back as Hitler in the 20th century.

However back to the actions of the those who want to stifle free speech which should be condemned unreservedly no matter from which quarter. We should condemn unreservedly those who would wish harm a duly elected president of the US and any person who threatens such action no matter from what quarter it comes.

I have only lived in 2 Muslim countries - Oman, which is incredibly peaceful, safe, tolerant and open minded, and Kazakhstan, which is not so safe, but that is nothing to do with religion. So there are a couple for you to confound the stereotype.
