Automatic Transmission adjustment

Featured Replies

I have a Mazda 2 and the auto transmission needs a service/adjustment.

I can't find a service specialist here in Pattaya.

Can anybody advise? Thank you.

MP, I can highly recommend a very experienced mechanic. He's not a "specialist" in transmissions; but he can do it all. He's Thai, but lived and worked in Japan, working as a mechanic there, for 20 years. He's been back here for 3 years, and imports parts directly from Japan, when needed. He speaks excellent English, so communication is not a problem.

His name is Khun Thong Chai, just Thong, for short. His small, cluttered shop (about 30 engines inside) is located on Soi Siam CC. It's about 100 meters west of the intersection with Nongprue Road (the only traffic light on Soi Siam, about 4.5 kms east of the RR). There's a small dirt road beside the shop. Drive in there.

An American friend of mine has known Khun Thong for over 15 years; and he has total confidence in him. That's how I found him.

One advance warning. If you haven't been there lately, you should know that Soi Siam is all torn up for drain installation now. You can get through, but there are a couple of short "drive around" detours, and narrow lanes to deal with.

Does the OP have some particular reason for not simply going to a Mazda dealer?

I dont have a Mazda but for anything at all complex my dealer would be my first point of call.
