Dear Mr Kie, it is with great pleasure that I read your posts. You sir are living my dream... ? If all pans out for me, I too should be living my dream in the next 48 months, plus/minus a month or two.

The main reason I'm writing is to ask you two questions, neither of which you have to answer if you don't want to.

Firstly, where in Thailand are you based and do you accept visitors?

Secondly, you showed us pics of a pond which you described as "low cost". May I be so indiscreet as to ask how much it cost to dig out? I'm just looking for a ball-point figure for future reference.

As previously stated, you don't have to answer any of these questions if you don't want to.

Good luck!

Thanks for your comment, first of all i would say it's still long way to go, but this year will be more productive. i'm actually living in Bangkok and Yasothon go back and forth. yes we open for visitors. the cost of a pond is only 2500 Baht, first digging by tractor 1 hours 200 Baht, and by man 400 Baht. the rest is plastic cover 1800 Baht. the actual size is 5x15x0.9.

Thank you! A lot less expensive than I had initially thought it would be.

It's called " กระสอบป่าน" i got it when i purchase the rice bran. it protect the damage to the plastic bag that hold water. to hold the bank you can simply grow the long root grass called หญ้าแฝก.

Excellent job. The before and after photo is very encouraging both for yourself and those of us still counting down to the time when we can get started.

Thumbs up for your farming project.
Just an idea, wouldn't goats be easier to take care of than sheep?
I have no practical experience but from what I've seen in Thailand there are much more goats than sheep, who are mostly limited to some kind of theme parks not farms.
