Assuming you have a U.S. address, phone number, valid drivers license, and can login with U.S. IP is there any openable bank account these days? Considering the tightening of the know your customer policies I imagine such banks are hard to find. Any ideas?

I opened an Ally Bank account online. Now I was using a VPN so my IP was shown as in San Jose, but their fraud department picked up my laptop timezone was set to Indochina. That was enough to freeze the account until I sent pictures of my drivers license & social security card to unlock everything.

Indeed it does! But it can be done, and to make it simple, VPN, change your laptop time to somewhere in the US and you'll be fine

Honestly more and more dealing with U.S. financial institutions I feel like a "fraud" accessing my own accounts.
