When saving a web page in Windows 7 I get this icon that clearly identifies it as a saved web page.

Doing the same thing in Windows 10 the icon is what looks like a plain piece of dog eared paper which does not identify it as anything.

Any ideas how to associate the proper icon to these .mht files ?

Right-click on the icon, select properties, then change icon. Browse through the available icons on your computer for one that you like. If necessary, google for icons and find one that you like. Then be sure to download one that has the .ico extension. There are converters online to convert other files such as png files to .ico files

Hi Doggie

I know all about changing icons but that does not work in this case. There is no change icon option.

Even if it was possible to change the icon it would only show on this file not ALL the future .mht files. I think it has more to do with file association than just changing the picture.

I would be interested in how other Windows 10 users see their saved web pages.

This works in Win10 - IE11 for some reason there is no save web page option in Edge blink.png

Here is how to save a web page:- Open a web page and click on "File"

Then click "Save as"

Choose a location, I usually save to Desktop, and "Save"

If your browser doesn't show the menu bar right click at the top of the page and select "Menu Bar"

As I said would be interested how other Win10 users see the saved web page icon.
