BANGKOK: -- More allegations of wrongdoings by the owners and staff of Nataree Massage Parlor were unearthed yesterday as it was discovered that many of the illegally-working female masseuses carried blue cards in their wallets with lions or eagles on them.

It is thought that these cards were for protection, meant to show to local Huay Kwang police to prove that a bribe had been paid on their behalf. Many of the women were illegal workers that were allegedly performing sex work or may have been trafficked.

The massage parlor was raided last Tuesday by the Interior Ministry and the police. They moved in on the large, famous massage parlor after reports of human trafficking were made to the police by a non-governmental organization. They detained 121 women, several were under 18 years old and 77 were foreign nationals.

Reverse gear engaged ? It's now ' thought ' to indicate police bribery whereas the original reports were far more positive.

Can't have the ' reputation and good name ' of the BIB impugned now can we ? Wasn't this the justification used by a DPM for the BIB to sue someone for defamation.

Time for the names to be used to show who was behind the racket.

If this had been going on for sometime and records kept it would be easy to catch those responsible.

Looks like most police officers from Huay Kwang were involved, time for a big clear out.

Not just moving them to inactive posts, because soon there will be more police in inactive posts than actually working.

Surely some of the females who worked there are talking and telling the police how things worked inside? So how is it they don't know what these blue cards are used for? It begs to ask the question as to how far up the chain payoffs were made and how much is not being said to the public about it.

Also, these comments about not blacking out the names. This is only one page being shown yet, this business has been operating for a very long time. What is it they are not showing?

The key words her are " How far up the Chain ", interesting case this might be.

What a pain to keep track of? Couldn't they just make one massive monthly payment to the top dog, and let him or his staff deal with disbursements?

That chap on the 15th got 60,000. Nice little earner, and from just one single shop. And no taxes to be paid. Brilliant.

Can just hear all the first and second wives haranguing their police husbands, "When are you going to get re-shuffled to Hway Khwang?"

Some folks are not exactly anxious for the 'cashless society'?

Looks like the bagman called around everyday to pick up

10-20-30,000 THB,suppose it depended on how good

business was and the amount of bribe paid.it comes as

no surprise, anyone operating an illegal,a bit iffy,or sometimes

legal businesses,have this added expense.

The police already know how it works. The only reason why the massage was raided is because the owners step on the wrong toes.

All these questions are pointless to be honest. If the police wants to clean up the city, they can but they don't want to. Money talks.

Average they had 150 girls in store.
Average price is 3000 Baht
Average 3 sessions per girl/day
is 1,35 Mio Baht a day.
Multiplied with 365 days is 492.750.000 Baht a year.
Almost half a billion Baht/Year.

This attracts a lot of dark, corrupt figures.

Classic obfuscation. Concentrate on a relatively minor part which everyone knows goes on, and deflect away from the more interesting and major part of who owns the place and who are all the names in the book.

A classic lack of obfuscation if you bother to keep up. The owners have been arrested and charged as well as the illegal immigrant workers.

Picking the low hanging fruit again. The owners and money men are the real villans, leave the girls alone.

Old bull, indeed. The owners have definitely not been left alone either, they've been charged and the money men are being investigated also.

"Leave the girls alone"? That sounds like you're condoning the use of underage, illegal immigrants.

Wonder if those were monthly, weekly or daily bribes. Seem very modest for monthly payments. I notice that Police 191 is always allegedly involved in these extortion scams. Even if you can't read Thai '191' stands out like a sore thumb in the ledger.

Hope the tax man reads the above...

And maybe the tax man should be going after those who have been named as beneficiaries as well... gigglem.gif

How massive do you think this place is? You're over-estimating the number of sessions hugely and, therefore, the amount of money made.

Your calculations are based on 450 sessions per day! That's around 900 hours of 'session' each day. Assuming it's open for 10 hours per day, that's about 90 individual customers that need 90 separate rooms to be available every hour. Reducing your figures by 60% will probably be nearer the truth.

It's very doubtful that the tax authorities would not be aware of businesses as prominent as Nataree et al, and they certainly wouldn't be checking this forum for information!

Nothing will happen to these Douchebag it will soon be swept under the rug !! I remember about 16 years ago when I first opened a bar in Phuket it only took a month before these slimy douchebags came crawling into my bar telling me if you don't pay us 2,000 a month (it's more now) we will either plant drugs in your bar or we will burn it down !! plain and simple. Then they send their lackeys around to pick up the money, never never never trust these douchebags no matter what !! to protect and serve "Lol" it's more like To Collect & extort is their motto.
