Doogee Y300

Featured Replies

I've been looking for a smartphone that had 4G connectivity and Android 6.0. The Doogee Y300 that was released recently fits those requirements and looks quite good and well-designed despite being a relatively unknown Chinese smartphone brand.

Here are some specifications:

CPU: MTK6735 64bit
Cores: Quad Core
GPU: Mali-T720
RAM: 2GB RAM
ROM: 32GB
External Memory: TF card up to 32GB ( included )

Screen size: 5.0 inch
Screen resolution: 1280 x 720 (HD 720)

Back-camera: 8.0MP ( SW 13.0MP )
Front camera: 5.0MP ( SW 8.0MP )
Camera Feature: SONY IMX219 Rear Camera

Google Play Store: Yes

Battery Capacity (mAh): 2200mAh Built-in Battery

The price on GearBest is under 5k THB, so it looks like you can't get better value-for-money elsewhere at the moment for these specifications.

The only cons I think are that Doogee is not well known (yet?), maybe a bit like how the Xiaomi brand was not well-known a while ago. So support in Thailand may be non-existent.

Also I'm not sure if it's possible to have 2 SIM cards and an additional memory card all at the same time. There's a video in Russian on YouTube that seems to show that it's not possible, but I couldn't understand Russian:

DOOGEE Y300 Review smartphone after a month of use:

The battery is non-removable. I'd prefer it to be removable, but maybe it's not actually necessary to ever remove it. If the battery starts to die in a few years it would be time to get a new phone anyway.

The screen is not full HD (1080p) but most or many people may not be able to notice the difference on such a small device, and the lower resolution helps to save battery power.

In the languages available it doesn't list Thai, so I'm not sure if that would be a problem for someone who wants the OS in Thai.

What do you guys think of this smartphone?

Have any of you tried it yet?

Are there any other cons?
