Satun promotes its Hoy Kao Island as another tourist attraction in the South

Satun Province is promoting its Hoy Kao (หอยขาว) Island as another tourist attraction in the southern region.

The move follows a visit to the island by members of the Satun Provincial Administration and officials from the Tourism Authority of Thailand (TAT) in the South including directors of Ta-lay Ban (ทะเลบัน) and Taru-tao (ตะรุเตา) national parks and 20 other tourism entrepreneurs informed the provincial public relations that recently the administration had led.

Hoy Khao (หอยขาว) Island is situated in the Andaman Sea and is about three kilometers away from other islands. Chief of Satun Provincial Administration Organization Witoon Langji (วิทูร หลังจิ) said the island has a beach formed by more than 20 kinds of sea shells piled up for more than a million years. The shell beach spreads over 20 rais on the island.

Due to the distinctive beauty of the island, the provincial administration wants to promote Hoy Khao as marine tourist centre in the South. Tourists can rent local fishermen’s boat to travel to the island.

I wonder if the head of TAT bought all of the land and is trying to market it for his own benefit. He did it in Koh Yao Noi as well.

Good Luck to him! :o
