Scooter rental with insurance?

Featured Replies

Anyone know of a shop that offers optional insurance? I would like to pay extra for something similar to 1st class insurance where I'm not liable for any damages/loss. I have a Thai license, health insurance and many years of experience riding in Thailand.

Thanks!

Going back a few years, but Mr Mechanic along Moon Muang -- before Ratwithi junction -- used to offer optional insurance.

Thanks, I'll check them out.

Queen Bee, a block or two south of Tha Phae Gate, inside the mote, offers cycles with insurance. A number of years ago I rented one there, had an accident which totaled the cycle, and woke up in the hospital with only a broken toe. The insurance covered everything, no questions asked.

J&N Bike Shop/Sunshine Bar on Soi one, behind Mad Dog's. Ask for "John," a German or "Nina," the Thai wife.

Thanks! I'll check out Queen Bee (although they say they want a passport deposit on their website) and J and N.

Insurance is often so low in the coverage limits to be of little value so check the coverage and decide it it is really worth it.
