visa when close company

Featured Replies

Hello,

First of all sorry for my english, this is not my native language.

I own a company that i would like to close, i'm now on a Non B multiple visa, so i go to Malaysia every 90 days.

I'm marry with a Thai and i have also 400k in a Thai bank.

I would like to know what are my choice:

I know that i can go out of Thailand and get a Non O base on marriage with the 400k option, can i go anywhere for this or some office are more recommended ( for my Non B i was used to go to Kota Bahru with an agent)?

Is this visa is a 1 year single entry or is it only for 3 month then need an extension of stay?

Other choice, is it possible to go to my immigration office and ask for an extension of stay of my Non B visa base on marriage with the 400k even if my work permit will be cancel and my company close?

Can i close my company and cancel my work permit before get the new visa or extension of stay or do you recommend to wait?

I remember i read in an other if i get a Non O visa and find a job i will can use this visa for get a work permit right?

Thanks for your help.

You can apply for an extension of stay based upon marriage during the last 30 days of any of the 90 day entries from your non-b visa. The 400k baht will need to be in the bank for 2 months when you apply.

Immigration will not ask about your work permit or anything related to your company since you have a visa. Only if you had an extension of stay based upon working would they ask about them.

Thanks for your help.

I never had an extension of stay based upon working.

So if i go apply for the extension of stay based upon marriage in around 60 days, as i just came back from Malaysia, can i close my company and cancel my work permit now or no?

Thanks for your help.

Update:

Obviously the law don't apply in Koh Samui, i went to the immigration office and they refused to do an extension of stay base upon marriage with my Non B visa.

The staff at the desk told me that i need a Non O visa. I tried to talk with some other staff but they refused to do it, in samui only the money talk...

I called some other immigration in Pattaya and Bangkok and they confirmed that i can do an extension based upon marriage with a Non B but they told me that they can't help and that i have to accept the decision of the immigration office so i went get a Non O visa in Malaysia.

So for those stay in Samui you have 2 choice: go to Malaysia and get a Non O visa or pay around 15,000 THB to a lawyer...
