I'm trying to grow some herbs and vegetables and I want to start with the best seeds available in CM. Does anyone know where to get good ones? I thought perhaps at the big flower market near the superhighway Tesco Lotus.

near the YMCA in Santitham, there is a place called "Known You Seed Company." I've browsed, and it looks like they have some nice stuff. If you can't find it; let me know, and I will get you a map or link. Man has been altering the outcomes of plant and animal life for 7000 years...nothing new here. Will be interesting to see if the Left keeps up the rhetoric on Monsanto, once the Germans buy it.

http://www.knownyouthai.com/showproduct.php is their website, has 5 outlets in TH - lots of companies in different Asian countries. The website is only in Thai, but if you translate you will get a half-decent version. No prices of the seeds...

Not in your area just an observation. I've tried seeds from tesco, big C, most of the smaller seed shops the so called quality seed shops in KK. In the end I have found Big C seeds to be the better choice.

I used to work for this company in the R&D section in Chiang Mai.

Our company sells expensive seeds but of high quality.

Please send the company a message to ask where the seeds you require are available.

In case you are new to growing vegetables please ask if you could visit the R&D station in Sansai for advice.

I was the incharge of growing all the station's vegetable crops.

Farmers and interested individuals used to come to see me for advice.

I don't know the name of the shop, but it's the best I found in years of searching. Arugula, Italian Basil, you name it, plus all varieties of Thai seeds. Once you're in the right neighborhood, the turn is easy to spot because of the tires on the corner.
