I am not a subscriber to the idea of Saint Ronnie. I do not think that you can say that his premiership was successful. In my view American did not win the cold war. Rather the Soviet Union lost it by not being able to compete economically and Reagan got lucky that the economic consequences of soviet style Marxist-Leninism with a dash of Stalinist Horror coincided with Gorbachev who tried to navigate a soft landing. So that whole winning the Cold War doesn't really convince me that Reagan was God's Chosen.

 

What is the result of Reagan? I would say Trump is the result of Reagan. Reagan was the original Tea Bagger - see link below. Reagan's voodoo economics created the massive income inequality we see now because he favored tax breaks for the rich over incentives for investment in labor.
