The end is near. Swenson out of chocolate sauce

Featured Replies

Haven't had this happen before

Ordered a chocolate ice cream thing at Swensons and was told they were all out of chocolate sauce and couldn't make it. I could have caramel instead.

That's 40% of their menu gone right there.

I went for the Durian special...I felt the same way

Go to one of their other shops, then.

Just God's way of telling you it's bad for you.

Or maybe just an inventory screw up.

Hard to say.

You're right, the subject of your thread was that on the day you went they were out of stock, so what was your point?

How does Swensons run out of one of ts most basic ingredients.
Next it will be ice cream
or plastic roses in place of the fresh ones

If I had five million usd in the bank; I would not go to Swensen's, when DQ is doing Blizzards for 19 thb.  Your story does remind me of a trip to Mcdonalds and it took 15 minutes for them to give me 3 regular hamburgers.  I told them I would try to make my order simpler next time.

DQ has its place for sure. They don't have the thick chocolate fudge sauce and the ice cream seems more aerated

when I go to DQ for my < 100 baht banana splitI say: mai ow chocolate, and the cute little girl says: two time strawberry?  I say OK

Swensons no chocolate sauce:(

Ohh my goodness what shall we do, this is a major catastrophy.

Complain to the management, complain to anybody who will listen.

I posted the experience here on Thailands premier expat forum.

U know dude, I didn't complain to management. Should I have? Could they have run out and picked up some fudge sauce?

Reminds me of the time I went to Mango Mania.....had to send one of the girls to the local market to get stuff for my drink.....???

if people can't even spell the name right, then the end might be nearer than we think. but yeah, i feel the OP's pain. it's not like you're asking for fresh fries or anything unusual.

I went to Swenson and asked for a big Mac. The girl said, would you like it, with or without Chocolate Sauce. ?

I love Thailand.

..... mismanagement or....

...have to wonder if there is nothing behind it though...

...been to Tesco Lotus and other stores where great products fly off the shelves....never to be restocked again...even months later...

So many budding diabetics on this forum.......

I went to Swenson the other day and they could not give me change for a 1000 THB charge!

Even after opening the lock on the tip container.  The cashier had to run to two stores to get change!

No money, no chocolate sauce! :w00t:

can i comment since its a swensen thread?

overpriced though  tastes decent. the actual amount of syrup is much less(skimpy) than the photos make you believe.

I have one better than no chocolate sauce. There is a chain of fast food restaurants in the midwest USA, called Steak N Shake. They are famous for their "steakburgers". You order your burger and they grill it and add the condiments you want.  I went to Steak n Shake one time and ordered a double burger with cheese, lettuce, tomato, pickle, onion and ketchup. The waiter said "sorry we are out of onions".  I asked, " how can a burger place be out of onions?   The manager heard me and  said that the delivery truck did not come last night.  I pointed across the street to a Schnunck's grocery store, told him they have onions and for $3 you would not have to tell customers you are out of onions.  He replied that they have to get all their supplies from the company delivery truck.  I said, "you mean the truck that did not show up last night".

Thanks for the Warning – Swensen's out of chocolate – we wouldn't survive a Swendsen's-visit without it...:(

not easy hunting for alternate shops if you have a feeling like having an ice

cream fix.

Oh dear Thai Visa is plumbing new depths of banality.

I suppose it's horses for courses - but Swenson must be the most over sweet appalling ice cream on the planet- so maybe no more chocolate is a good thing .

Yes, In Thailand it's easy. I've been to a KFC that had no chicken, a McDonald's that had run out of burgers and a fish restaurant set up on a beach that had no fish. Just part of the magic of living the dream in Thailand.

I used to love going to Svensons when I first came to Thailand, but have not been for years as they went crazy with their prices, as did Dunkin Donuts.

Wait till you see the prices at the Haagen Das outlets.

Those prices really are insane. Nice ice cream but they must have one price world wide
