Formatted new 2gb thumbdrive.

Now trying to install 'portable apps' which asks to install to root directory, but now there aint one. Tried just installing to new folder, but wont work.

Suggestions?

You should have gotten a driver cd with the drive. Running this cd should restore an empty drive. If you don't have one, go to the manufacturer's website.

Surely when you look at a reformatted drive you are automatically in the root.

F:/ is the root directory.

Astral, thats what i thought.

Its a lexar 2gb. Came preloaded with google package which would not delete, which is why i formatted.

Can use it to transfer files no probs, so perhaps the problem is with 'portable apps'??

CDvic: no cd with it, but i will try the Lexar website.

seems there is no driver for it.

Problem solved. Cause lay in the portable apps application, for somereason didnt like the drive. The light version works, so i will try full version again.
