August 23, 20169 yr I'm a British citizen, travelling to the USA, with my 1yr old daughter by myself. Her father is Thai, and I believe its wise to have a travel consent letter from her father, notarised. Stating that he gives permission for her to travel with me. Does anyone know where I could get this notarised? I asked at Star Visa, but they said they couldn't notarise a letter which was written by the father, but they could notarise a document issued from the Amphur. I don't want to have to go the Amphur so, am looking for other companies that could notarise this letter? thanks
August 23, 20169 yr If the father was there at Star Visa, and signs the letter in front of them, I don't see why they would not notarized the letter. I assume he was not present when you wanted the letter notarized. Recommend you also get a copy of the father's ID card and a copy of the child's birth certificate with the fathers name. Make sure you cover all the bases.
August 23, 20169 yr Author Thanks Jimmy, yeah, I called Star Visa, and I said that the father would sign the letter in front of them, but they seemed hesitant to do this. Yes, I was also going to get the Thai birth cert translated and notified by them, but copy of father's id card is good idea too. Don't want any probs when we arrive in USA, esp cos my surname is different from my daughter's surname

August 23, 20169 yr Thailand notarisation is not recognised in many countries but I have used Sumalee Jennapa to notarise documents that were accepted by UK financial authorities. She is very helpful, highly knowledgeable and not expensive. Her offices are on Huay Keaw Rd, just above Canal Road in the Punna Residence. You can contact her by email at [email protected] or by phone at 053142366.
