Krungsri online banking discontinued from 1 October 2025
On the Krungsri Biz point, I now gather that there are charges levied for the use of business accounts which don't apply in the case of personal accounts. If it does turn out that the BOT is, indeed, behind any move to discontinue online banking across the board, then, quite frankly, I am disgusted - while not being at all surprised at the same time, I have to say. IMHO they would have been far better off in their regulatory capacity in getting Thai banks to waive their annual credit and debit cards fees of around 250 THB. In that way, contactless forms of payment, which have proved to be such a resounding success in my home country (UK) since the pandemic, could, hopefully, have taken off here more than they have. As I found out on my last trip to the UK in May 2024, you only need to hold a credit or debit card against a scanner for 1 second max until you hear a beep in order to pay for restaurant meals, supermarket purchases, bus fares, etc. Far more convenient than having to spend at least 30 seconds (if you're lucky) in firing up a slow and erratic banking app and then aiming an e-pot shot with it at a QR code, I would have thought! We should also not forget that we presumably have the BOT to thank for the fact that Wise have not been able to make their card available in Thailand thus far, for some ridiculous regulatory reason in all probability! The only inference which I think that we can draw from all this is that the BOT are, in their regulatory capacity, out to make the whole banking process for account holders in Thailand just as cumbersome and awkward as it humanly can be - presumably under the holy grail of "security". -

Visa run limits
Certainly not a risk I'd be willing to take right now given how many people are being pulled up at the airports and how many are being denied entry for not having a long-term visa. -

How to open a Bank account in 2025?
Siam Legal is widely known to have long outdated information posted. They also own the incredibly misleading "Thaiembassy" website that's always rife with incorrect and outdated information. Siam Legal does not offer bank account opening services unless you are purchasing other services from them that requires a bank account, same as many other large agents in Bangkok. -

Armpit rash?
Just the one, had it about three months, tried a few ointments and lotions from the pharmacy which has some effect, but comes back. Anyone any idea what it is and how to get rid of it? Not using any deodorants on it, starting to itch a bit. -

Dash cam(motorbike)
This is the correct answer... A lot of Dash-Cam's (both of mine) - you connect to the CAM itself via Wifi-Connection... (which is not an internet connection - but just a connection over Wifi to the Dash-cam - thats it)... ... The phone recognises that there is 'no internet' from the Dash-Cam - because its not a Wifi-Router its just a dash-cam - nevertheless the connection between phone (app) and Cam is established and the App can the access the dashcams features. This type set up is fairly universal... Addtionally - IF you have AppleCarPlay (GooglePlay) connected to your car etc that connection will prevent you from connecting to the Dash-Cam Wifi-Connection, thus you may need to 'disconnect' the phone from the AppleCarPlay (GooglePlay)...
