Hello everyone,

me and my (thai) gf are planning to go to Singapore the next weekend for 4 days. I read on this forum, a few cases where the gf got her entry denied by immigration, probabely due to suspecting of illegal immigration. Therefore, as i would like to secure it as much as possible, would you guys know wheather the girl must or should bring with her any kind of document or attestation (i.e. condo's payment plan... ) in order to show that she doesn't have any intention of staying longer ?

Cheers

I took my girlfriend down there in May without any problems. It was pretty quiet and we just went up to the immigration counter together, he looked at both our passports and stamped us through. He didn't ask to see any other documents, reservations, money etc. You should be fine i think.

When me and my partner went at the end of July I went to the counter with her and we said that we were together.  They were not happy as they said her name was quite popular so she was taken in a room for about 15 mins.  Asked questions and finger prints taken.  We did have travel insurance for her and we had our Airbnb address handy.  Once done they were happy.

They can be a'holes there if they want to, went with my wife, same surname in passport as me, and they still quizzed her about the trip and when she would leave.  They wrote the date and flight# in her passport next to the eventual entry stamp.  Just go with the flow if they decide to give her grief, if you are there its highly unlikely anything worse than a few questions can happen.

I have taken my wife to Singapore without problems.  If they let you approach immigration together, that is the best.  If not, have her go first and she should be able to point to you and say that you are traveling together.  What Singapore immigration is really looking for are Thai ladies traveling by themselves for, um, work purposes.

I went a few weeks ago with mine. While we were waiting in line, about 5 or 6 Asian girls from various flights including ours were pulled aside to the room. My gf went first and I was next in line. They asked her for her return ticket and proof of hotel which she had and she pointed to me and said we were together.....they let us in just fine with no problems. But the 5 or 6 that were pulled in front of us in about 10 mins, I'm not sure what happens to them.
