The beach in the new Statham film The Mechanic 2?

I posted this in the Krabi forum and got no replies. Perhaps people not living in Krabi know the answer.

 

I was impressed by the one in the movie. No horrid concrete mega resorts for rich people only.

However, on looking at the photos on google of Koh Lipe I see only revolting concrete buildings for rich people.

 

Did they build all those simple huts specially for the movie?

Probably - wherever it is there would have to be no swells or tides as it's pretty low level to the water - also no tradewinds.....

 

The pier looked authentic....

 

They might have blue screened the background - they could have been sitting in front of the Hilton in Hawaii for all we know....
