Sydney, Western Bulldogs to meet in AFL grand final

SYDNEY (AP) — The Western Bulldogs will face Sydney in the grand final of the Australian Football League after beating Greater Western Sydney 13.11 (89) to 12.11 (83) in a preliminary final on Saturday.

Sydney beat Geelong 15.7 (97) to 8.12 (60) on Friday to claim its place in next Saturday's grand final of the Australian Rules tournament. The Bulldogs will make their first grand final appearance since 1961.

Jack Macrae kicked a clutch goal with less than three minutes to go to give the Bulldogs the lead after scores were tied.

The Giants struggled after losing co-captain Callan Ward to concussion in the second quarter while the Bulldogs lost forward Jordan Roughead to a facial injury.

Clay Smith and Tory Dickson led the Bulldogs with four goals apiece.
