Phuket jazz musicians hold fund-raising jam for fallen friend Abner Arela

PHUKET: -- Some of Phuket’s best jazz jam musicians will gather at the renowned Music Matter bar in Phuket Town tonight (Sept 28) to raise funds to pay for rising medical bills for Abner Arela, who remains comatose after suffering a stroke last week.

Mr Arela, 64, is father to well-known Filipino musician in Phuket Ranel Arela.

“My father is still in a coma at Vachira Hospital after he suffered a stroke with multiple ischemia last Thursday (Sept 22),” Ranel told The Phuket News.

“We need help. All donations will go towards paying medical medical bills,” he said.
