More likely they're doing what they erroneously think Thais would do. But Thais only use chopsticks for noodle dishes.

This thread is more about Soibikers troll comments than the original topic.   I think we've already established that what OP witnessed was not a Cheap Charlie but an average behavior of an expat on a budget in Thailand.   And the restaurant was pricey too . 

 

Surely 'expat on a budget' is just the PC term for Cheap Charlie?

Iam an expat on a budget and that budget is my monthly salary. If that makes me a cheap charlie then so be it.

   You are constantly trying to put other people down all the time .

Everyone is on a budget , everyone has an income that they have to spend within.

Well, apart from rich people with an endless supply of money .

SoiBiker : From your posts , you appear to be one of these super rich people who can spend spend spend and have no need to budget .

   You must appreciate that not everyone has your financial means .

Anyway, you seem rather different to most rich people that I know .

Most of them keep their wealth quiet , pretend to be poor .

Whilst most of the poor tend to pretend that they are rich .

I'm not rich in the slightest. 

 

I can afford 100 baht for a plate of food, though. Living the dream...
