GBP/THB The pips are squeaking

Another significant leg down for the once-mighty pound sterling.

Sending as much THB back to the UK as possible.

Brexit has had the predicted outcome and while I didn't vote for it, I think I can be excused for filling my boots.

I'd imagine a lot of Brits are re-evaluating their ongoing residence in Thailand with the GBP fetching just 42.77 (according to Thai baht rates on this forum at time of posting)

This is only going to get worse

The spike down to $1.14 overnight where it dropped to would have taken us to around 39.5 had it held. Back up to $1.24 now

Completely normal effect of global trade and interchange.

Rich countries get poorer.
Poor countries get richer.

Until equilibrium is reached.

Planning stay in Thailand from when l did it in 2000 was based on 35 baht.

Better quickly change the paper 5 pound notes I still have before they become as valuable as a Laos 200 kip note.

Have until May 2017 to do it but no point in waiting

Amongst Brits i know it is not just the weaknesses of the pound but the general circumstances prevailing in Thailand that are makng them look elsewhere.

So you are from the USA, guy.........

Well let me tell you, YOU do not have to tell Brits in LOS there income has taken a hit...We deal with it and do not need someone like yourself to remind us...Just something else to deal with as we do throughout life...If you are a key board dribbler then crack on cos us Brits will crack on....
