Finding a place to live in Khon Kaen/Motorbike

Hi all,

 

I am a teacher who yesterday has moved to Khon Kaen for the next four months. I am looking for a place to stay that is not too expensive. I am teaching here and my agency put me in an apartment complex that is a small studio and a bathroom for 5000 baht which I think to be tremendously overpriced. I am in downtown area though right by the lake. Any ideas on where to begin looking??

 

Also, I just rented a motorbike that is not in the best condition for the upcoming month for 2500 baht. Does anyone know where to get good motorbikes to rent for cheap, or do those run at even higher monthly rates?
