Heavy rain brings more minor flash floods to Phuket

PHUKET:-- Heavy rain caused traffic tailbacks north of Phuket Town today (Oct 31) as the local office of the weather bureau forecast even more rain for the coming days.

A downpour that started at about midday and lasted 45 minutes saw floodwaters cut off two of three lanes on on Thepkrasattri Rd near the main Super Cheap store.

The two outside lanes were under about 30cm to 50cm of water for about 100 meters, reducing traffic flow to using only one lane.

Technically we are now in the high season ...

The flooding discussed here was yesterday. But more minor floodings today would not surprise me.
