Bag wrapping stations at Suvarnabhumi

Featured Replies

Hello,

I'm flying Korean Air to the US next week. Moving, so I plan on doing the maximum allowed baggage. "Each Economy Class passenger is allowed two pieces of luggage as long as each piece does not weigh more than 23 kg/50 lbs and the sum of the dimensions of both bags does not exceed 107 in/273 cm."

I'm planning on using two boxes per passenger, each box is 40x45x35 (120 cm, 240 cm for both).

If you have any advice, I'd be interested to hear it.

But the reason I'm writing is because I'm curious about the wrapping stations that one sees before your go to the check-in lines. I have never used them before, but they seem like a good idea for my cardboard boxes. Could somebody explain how they work to me? Any rules I need to know about beforehand?

Thank you very much for any replies.

Give them your bag and they wrap it for 100bt. Look on YouTube.

Fyi, the fee for bag wrapping is 150 baht per item.

Worked great with the boxes. He even made handles for them.

Searched the web and viewed 3 VDO's listed...no where can I find the business hours.

Are these wrapping machines available 24 hours at swampy BKK?

I would guess since it's an international airport that the service is available 24/7.

Thanks

Sorry for double posts

The wrapping machines are open 24/7 at swampy.

AOT tourist information number is 1672.

They speak good English

While I think low odds, the one thing to be mindful of (and you can't really control it) is that IF security wants to open your boxes for inspection - which they can do - that's done after you would have had it wrapped and after the bag leaves your sight and control.

They don't rewrap bags or boxes that previously had wrapping before being cut for inspection. But again, low odds IMHO
