hi, advice please, live here two years on an O retirement visa, have been told i need an IDP, which to me is a non starter, as i have read that the date of a IDP would be 2 years after i arrived and has not been recognised, so my options are,? get my UK driving licence verified by UK Embasy at £50 and then my CERT of RESIDENCY at another £50. (£100) ?? is this the case. seems like my only option thanks in advance.(then i need the medical cert) i know the rest, copies, etc.

Certificate of residence from Thai immigration (free, or 500B donation to the beer fund in some provinces). Take that and UK licence to local test centre with medical cert etc and Bob's you're uncle.
