Galpagos Posted November 20, 2016 Posted November 20, 2016 Dear Thaivisa, I recently came to Thailand a month ago and I am currently working as a teacher. This is my first time in such a humid and hot climate, and I have developed acne like spots on my buttocks. This is very embarrassing to talk about but I am really desperate for some advice in how to combat this. I am currently using quadriderm and baby powder to fight this issue. Is there anything else that you highly suggest? I am willing to do what it takes to remedy this problem and would love to hear a surefire way to eliminate this problem and keep it that way. I understand that I might have to powder my butt everyday. I read on this forum that some users suggested a prickly heat talcum powder? Where can I buy this and is this a good preventative measure? Also, do I not wear underwear for awhile? Thank you for your kindness.
Don Mega Posted November 20, 2016 Posted November 20, 2016 Prickly heat is available everywhere, very common. To save on the embarrassment maybe consider wearing pants in the classroom.
stubuzz Posted November 20, 2016 Posted November 20, 2016 A sure way to stop the rash is to move to a more friendly climate, as it will only get worse in the hot season.
Sheryl Posted November 20, 2016 Posted November 20, 2016 The prickly heat powder is in all the stores, supermarkets etc. but it is just talc with menthol. How long have you been using the quadriderm? It should work but does take soem time. Assuming it is prickly heat or fungus, anything that helps keep the area dry and cool will help. Underwear should be thin cotton, ditto pants/slacks. If it does not clear up with the quadriderm, best to see a dermatologist.
bkk6060 Posted November 21, 2016 Posted November 21, 2016 (edited) Yeah you may have a fungal infection. Or, Ringworm Fungus. That powder will do nothing but give some relief not solve the problem. I had it and it took almost 3 months before it went away. A suggestion is to not sit on your butt too much. What finally got rid of mine was Lamisil. Some Doctors won't presrcibe it do to possible liver issues. I finally bought some in a pharmacy and took it and it solved the problem. Edited November 21, 2016 by bkk6060
